Wonderful book but not for beginner.

This book goes into wonderful details about DNA and coupling to that are experiments to talk about how those discoveries were made. There are a lot of informations to which the reader must memorize to be a dedicated scientist. If the reader does not have a mature and analytical/reasoning skills, then all the informations will be gibberish. The reader also much have a basic understanding of chemistry and biology to understand the informations. If the reader is in high school and is taking Honor/AP biology then the informations will be clear cut. Some abbreviation are used and will not be told to what it stand for. Ex: the book used "bp" (it does not mean blood pressure), this refers to as "Base Pairs". The book did not provide "Base Pairs" so the reader must be able to reason it out base on the context and how bp was used. Over all comment on this book is IT'S AWESOME!!!!

My High School Textbook

This was used for my high school semester course "DNA Sci part 1" textbook used with Watson's Recombinant DNA textbook. DNA Science:A 1st Course, 2nd edi was useful in supplementing the updates in recent genetic advances and some newer, better graphic representations. I found this to be an easy textbook to read, although not intended for those without a biology and chemistry background since the book does not waste much ink on describing what should have already been learned. The other students in my class seemed to find this book to be a clear, understandable textbook as well.

A very good first course textbook that keeps a student (or any person) interested. Nice big, clear print as well. The laboratories were the standard same as in the Recombinant DNA textbook.

About the Author
Das Goravani was born Richard Edward Wurst in 1960 in Oakland California. Although raised Irish Catholic, and he considered entering the Seminary to become a priest, he instead took interest in the Indian Vaisnava Religion at the age of 19, and devoted much of his life to its Astrological Science. Teaching himself computer programming in the 1980s, he realized the potential for this emerging technology to make Astrology accessible to the public at large. He created one of the first, and best loved Jyotish programs: Goravani Jyotish.

Useful, but needs significant improvements!

This is a useful book, but it could have been enhanced with references to the primary sources (the sources have not been mentioned at all!) and some explanatory notes, particularly on contradictory significations attributed to the same house, sign, or planet.

I returned this book shortly after receiving it. I felt it was organized in a way that made it very difficult to use. There was no explanation of the planetary indications just lists of items that may be associated and it lacked a cohesiveness. I could not picture myself referring to it as a resource, so I returned it.
