About the Author
Captain Mike Ray has been hanging around aviation forever ... after a stint flying the Grumman S2 Tracker with the US Navy, he got a slot at a major airline where he sat strapped to about every airplane seat they flew for over 30 years. He wound up retiring as Captain on the Boeing 747-400 ... and since then has spent his time trying to tell the kids about just how to do it. He has written several well received books that have assisted normal garden-variety airline pilots in fooling their check-pilots into thinking they knew what they were doing.

Good book for learning to operate the 747-400.

The book has little information on aircraft systems. If you need that for your oral, this is the wrong book.
But, if you want to know who to run the FMS and the airplane, this is a great book. Well-written. Easy to understand and follow.
At $49.95, it's a bit pricey. But, I suppose that's to be expected for a book with a limited market.
